Leeds Castle, England

June 10, 2001

The very pretty castle and gardens make for a great day out with the roaming peacocks and swans. The garden maze was most interesting... if you get to the end, the exit is a surprise underground grotto! Apparently, these things were shell coated, somewhat creepy, underground caves were in fashion for this corner of Europe at one time.

If you are looking for this place on a map, it's no where near Leeds, sharing only the name.

Pedantic notes from a local

Leeds Castle is very near Leeds. Only, the small village of Leeds in Kent. Not the big Yorkshire City. I was bought up in Ashford which is between Leeds and Dover Castles.

yours pedantically,
Andy
