April 21, 2001 (also passing through for a few hours on the 26th & 29th)
The airport in Esbjerg is in the middle of farmland with no money changing facilities. There's a cafe and a bus that comes by that doesn't take credit cards.
And since the day was young and my pack light, I made this an opportunity for a walking exercise - a saunter through the countryside.
Past thatched roofed barns and a few little villages, 11 kilometers later, I was in the center of the small city. There was no bank on the stretch of country road, nor money changing facilities at the train station, but you can buy a train ticket by credit card. And so I'm off to Copenhagen, where they must have a bank.
